ROS2 Hardware Interfaces
Students connect to the physical Lynxmotion AL5D robots for the first time. Using ROS2 hardware interfaces, they command joint positions, read encoder feedback, and verify their IK solutions from the morning session on real hardware.
This session is the core of the BIP’s hardware-first philosophy: students discover firsthand the difference between a kinematic solution on paper and executing that same motion on a physical robot — dealing with joint limits, calibration offsets, and communication latency.
